Dr. Souchon (1841-1924) was born Dec. 1, 1841, in Opelousas, La., of French parents. He studied medicine in Paris, returning to New Orleans after the death of his father. He graduated from the University of Louisiana (an earlier name of Tulane University) in 1867. In 1869, he married Corinne Lavie, and they had three children. Dr. Souchon served on the Board of Administrators of Charity Hospital in the late 19th century, and later became President of the Louisiana State Board of Health. He was a...
